MoonDesk: Motion Graphics & Corporate Illustrations
In 2024, Felicidad Collective contacted us to develop the visual communication for MoonDesk, a company that has created the first platform to optimize and simplify the product labeling process.
The project began by budgeting the creation of a main video, accompanied by its capsules (shorter videos), which would have the purpose of explaining in detail how the software works. Later, and motivated by the artistic direction of the project, the client decided to extend our work to a system of corporate illustrations in order to fully cover their communication on the digital level.
The challenge? To represent the complex functions of the software in a simplified, attractive and allegorical way. To this end, we were looking for a system that would be highly adaptable and scalable. In addition, we should not forget, as suggested by Chacho Puebla, one of the heads of Felicidad, that the vision of this work was also to highlight the Latin identity. To this end, we created a stimulating and varied color palette ranging from the cold Antarctic blue to the bright and overloaded Caribbean colors.
The basis of our characters are simple geometric shapes governed by a construction system that facilitates the animation process. From the beginning we imagined a graphic system that works well when applied in animation software and, at the same time, requires few steps to achieve a consistent animation.
As we will see, legs are strokes: with a simple modification of the thickness we have a different pair of pants. The same happens when we shorten the stroke: for example, we get a pair of shorts. But let's let our characters explain this system for themselves.
But everything starts from statism. To create an animated world, we must first go through the essential phase of prefiguring it. From our point of view, it is always better to propose a graphic and compositional direction from the very sketches to pave the way. You can see here how the storyboard corresponds almost exactly with what would later become the final video.
Next, we will take a brief walk through the creative process. A link between the storyboard, the styleframe and the final video. In each scene that we will see animated, 3D software has been used. Do you think we have managed to respect the tone set out in the reference sent to the client?

But this journey does not end here. We mentioned that we had to create capsules, shorter videos that specifically explain the program's functionalities. Here you can see the series of storyboards that correspond to the remaining ten videos (yes, quite a job!).
However, each capsule has its reduction (10-second videos) and its adaptation to 4:5 format. We will not share these versions because this case study would become interminable. We hope that you will find this to be sufficient.
Here are some snapshots of key moments.
We also take a moment of recreation to explore and try out styles outside of the approved one. The possibilities are enormous! If you made it this far, we'll leave you a bonus track as a thank you.
